Raiders Top Sturbridge, 10-0, in Five Innings

Worcester, MA --- Peter Bovenzi struck out eight batters while Joe Consolmagno and Jimmy Smith each batted 2-for-3 and
combined for three RBI as East Side Post 201 extended its winning-streak to five games following a 10-0 five-inning victory over visiting
Sturbridge Post 109 on Wednesday night in an American Legion Zone 4 tilt at Tivnan Field at Lake Park.  The Raiders improve to 5-3 on
the season and 5-2 in First 13 games. Sturbridge slipped to 4-2 (4-2 First 13) with the setback.

Bovenzi, who earned his first American Legion win in his first career start for East Side, stuck out eight in the run-shortened contest.  
Offensively, Consolmagno and
Tim Brutto each knocked in a pair of runs as Jack Riley, Regan Aghdam and Erik Lacaire each scored
twice for Post 201.
Nate Frederick drew three walks and crossed home plate once.

Bryan Stearns and Jake Boilard each recorded a hit for Post 109'while Kyle Lavallee, Jared Wetherbee and Alex Augustine all saw
time on the mound for the guests.

East Side lit up the scoreboard four times in the bottom of the second. Brutto opened the scoring with a two-out two-run double up the
middle. Smith later singled to make it a 3-0  Raider advantage. Frederick capped the outburst with an RBI walk.

Post 201 added on two more tallies in the third courtesy of a Consolmagno two-RBI double to center field. In the bottom of the fourth,
Brandon O'Connor scampered home on an infield miscue. Cam Frederick followed with a sacrifice fly to center. Riley and Lacaire
crossed home plate on a misplayed ball of the bat of Brutto for the final two runs of the game.

Sturbridge looked to extend the game as the first two batters reached courtesy of a walk by
Ian Wetherbee and a single by Boilard;
however, the next three batters were retired in order.

East Side heads to Framingham tomorrow for a 7pm matchup while Sturbridge hosts Cherry Valley at 5:30pm.
