Raiders Rally Past Wachusett; Secure Elusive One-Run Victory
Holden, MA --- Nick Cardillo threw a scoreless 4 1/3 in relief and eight of the nine spots in the lineup produced a hit as East Side
rallied for a 6-5 victory at Wachusett (Holden Post 42) on Thursday in a Massachusetts American Legion Zone 4 matchup.
Of the eight East Side hitters, T.J. Camoreyt was 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a walk while Dezi Garcia was 2-for-3 with a
walk, RBI and a run scored. Jono Crimmin drew three free passes. Cardillo collected the win in relief and Erik Lacaire earned a
six-pitch save. Along with starter Pat Gallagher, the trio combined to strike out four.
Eric Seaver was the only Wombat to record a pair of hits with a 2-for-3 evening. Jordan Teevens drove in a pair while Cam Ruziak
walked twice and Connor Gill tripled.
East Side grabbed a 2-0 lead in the top of the second behind an RBI single by Garcia and run-producing double by Camoreyt.
Wachusett responded with a five run outburst in the home half of the frame. Tim Post singled in Seaver and Teevens pushed two
across with a single through the left side. Gill then tripled to chase home Teevens and later scored on a passed ball.
Post 201 began to chip away in the fifth when Crimmin scored on an infield miscue. The Raiders evened it up as Lacaire crossed home
plate on an infield miscue on a ball put into play by Cardillo in the sixth. Matt Kachadoorian represented the game-winning run as he
scored when PJ Barry was hit by a pitch with the bases juiced.
The final 10 batters of the game were retired in order as the Raiders captured their first one-run game of the season
East Side returns to The Lake on Friday for a 7pm appointment with city and Tivnan Field bragging rights on the line against Grafton
Hill while Wachusett heads to Main South.
