Raiders Come From Behind to Best Framingham; Leominster Postponed
Worcester, MA ---Jono Crimmin and Matt Kachadoorian each batted 3-for-3 and combined for three RBI and three runs scored as
East Side Post 201 rallied past Framingham Post 74, 8-5, on Wednesday night in a Massachusetts American Legion Baseball Zone 4
showdown at Tivnan Field. Due to the rain, the second game scheduled for 8pm against Leominster was postponed to Sunday at a time
to be announced.
Nick Cardillo went 2-for-2 with a walk and Erik Lacaire added a 2-for-4 night with two RBI and a run scored. Steve Albert (2-3)
yielded four runs - three earned - on six hits with five punchouts in the first six frames. Lacaire struck out one in the seventh.
Andrew Mooney paced the guests with a 3-for-3 evening with a walk, an RBI and three runs scored. Marco Roffo and Matt Cronin
went 2-for-3 at the dish and totaled three RBI. Jake O'Brien walked twice. Ritchie Ferreira and Brian LeBlanc each saw time on
the hill for Post 74.
Framingham jumped out to a 3-0 lead after half an inning. Mooney drove in the first and Roffo followed with a sacrifice fly. Cronin
completed the trifecta with an RBI double to center field.
East Side evened it back up in the second. Crimmin led off with a single and was quickly plated by Kachadoorian's double to center.
Lacaire then singled up the middle to chase home Kachadoorian before scoring on an RBI knock by Cardillo.
Post 74 broke the stalemate in the fifth as Julian Tamburro was plunked with the bases-loaded.
The Raiders put up a five spot in the sixth. Dezi Garcia scored on a fielder's choice put into play by Sean Murphy. T.J. Camoreyt
scampered home on a wild pitch before Crimmin pushed a run across with a sacrifice bunt. Kachadoorian and Lacaire used consecutive
singles to tack on two more runs.
Framingham mustered one more run early in the seventh as Roffo doubled in Mooney. Psyt 74 had the bases juiced but a swinging
strikeout ended the game.
All three teams are scheduled to be back in action at 5:30pm on Thursday. East Side (8-10) heads to Algonquin Regional High School
to take on Northboro, Framingham (9-9) continues a five-game road trip at Northbridge and Leominster (12-8) returns home to face
