East Side Drops Fifth 4-3 Decision of 2014 on Anniversary of Zone 4 National-Bound Title Game
Worcester, MA ---Ryan Lever batted 2-for-3 with a walk and a two RBI double as Leominster Post 151 handed East Side Post 201
its 10th one-run loss of the season, and fifth by a score of 4-3, in a key Massachusetts American Legion Zone 4 clash on Sunday
evening at Tivnan Field.
The two teams met exactly one year ago in the Zone 4 National-Bound Championship game in which East Side claimed the 6-5
victory. Post 201 eventually went on to finish its season in the Northeast Regional title game.
Lever put Post 151 ahead in the second inning with a double down the left field line. Two batters later, Brennan Cuddahy drew a
bases-loaded walk for the 3-1 advantage. The previous half inning saw T.J. Cameroyt scamper home on a Leominster miscue.
The guests plated a key insurance run in the fifth when Noah Milliard scored after Marc Poirier was caught in a rundown.
Camoreyt began a seventh-inning rally with a double to right field. He moved to third on a balk and scored on a one-out RBI single by
Matt Kachadoorian. East Side had a pair of runners in scoring position with two outs before Kachadoorian scored on a wild pitch. The
rally was then halted by a grounder to short.
Pat Gallagher and Cameroyt each doubled for the hosts while Lever and Milliard did the same for Leominster. Cuddahy earned three
of Post 151's seven walks in the game.
Erik Lacaire struck out four in 4 2/3.
Jonathan Gonzalez tossed a scoreless 2 1/3 with six strikeouts and issued only one walk in
relief. Kyle Cutler allowed three runs - two earned - on five hits and struck out seven in the complete-game effort for Leominster.
East Side (9-12) closes out the homestand on Monday beginning with the resumption of the suspended game against North County at
6pm. The regularly scheduled home game against Post 129 is scheduled for a 7pm first pitch. Leominster (13-8) hosts Northboro at
5pm and Wachusett at 7:30pm.
